The Brother HL-L8240CDW uses four toner cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow), plus drum units that are replaced separately. Every toner and drum that fits the HL-L8240CDW is on this page, genuine and Eco Advanced compatible, and I ship them Australia-wide from partner warehouses across the country. Which cartridges fit the HL-L8240CDW
- Highest yield: Brother TN-259 in black (about 4,500 pages), cyan, magenta and yellow (about 4,000 pages each)
- Toner: Brother TN-258 standard yield and TN-258XL high yield in black, cyan, magenta and yellow (XL black about 3,000 pages, XL colour about 2,300 pages)
- Drum units: Brother DR-258CL (about 30,000 pages)
- Eco Advanced compatible TN-258XL toner in black, cyan, magenta and yellow, and DR-258CL drum unit
The TN-259 is the highest-yield toner for the HL-L8240CDW and the MFC-L8390CDW, so it's the better buy for heavy colour printing; the smaller laser models in the range don't take it. The TN-258 and TN-258XL are the same shape and fit the same way. The drum units only need replacing when the printer asks for them.
