The Brother MFC-J5720DW uses four ink cartridges: black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The colours come in the LC233 (about 550 pages each) and the high-yield LC235XL (about 1,200 pages each), and the black comes in the LC233 (about 550 pages) or the super-high-yield LC239XL (about 2,400 pages). Each cartridge is separate, so you only replace the one that runs out.
